Workaccess is a 501c(3) non profit organization, that supports people with disabilities which interferes with their ability to be gainfully employed or function appropriately in the society. We are a unique day center where work, life, social skills training, recreation and an optional supported self employment program is provided.
Workaccess is a specialized program equipped with seasoned special education professionals who have the expertise tailored to the unique needs of each client. Services provided includes empowerment to gain work skills, providing job placement and supported employment services. Also there is an optional self employment program that promotes the creation and sale of jewelry, art & craft- all of which are sold to give clients opportunities to earn their pay checks.
Workaccess contracts with the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, Department of Blind Services and the Alamo Area Council of Government, for services such as
In addition to the services, clients are also able to participate in recreation such as bowling, art projects, concerts, restaurants/ eateries and several others. Furthermore, clients are encouraged to participate in volunteer opportunities in the community- such as cleaning, housekeeping, performing yard work etc.
